Reasonable selection of blades carbide grades mainly based on processing materials properties and performance of cemented carbide. General selection of milling cutter, press tool factory for processing of materials and process conditions, come equipped with corresponding grade of cemented carbide blade.

Due to the production of similar use of cemented carbide components and properties are different, said methods of cemented carbide grades are different, for the convenience of users, ISO, cemented carbide for cutting in its chip type and the material to be processed is divided into three major categories: p, m and k categories. According to the material to be processed and the processing conditions in each category can be divided into several groups, two-digit Arabic numerals each class the higher the number, the higher the lower wear resistance, toughness.

P alloy (including metal ceramics) produces long chips for processing of metallic materials, such as steel, cast iron, malleable cast iron, stainless steel, heat-resistant steel.

M alloy used to produce long chips and short cuttings of ferrous or non-ferrous metals, such as steel, cast steel, austenitic stainless steels, heat resistant steels, malleable cast iron, alloy cast iron, etc.

K-alloy produces short chips for processing of ferrous, non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials, such as cast iron, aluminum, copper, plastic, hard wood, and so on.
